After seeing the first elephant in the street without a seller I decided to ask around if there was anyone who had seen the owner of the seller. It was all in vain till I came across a man who told me that there was another elephant in a shop. This made me so mad that I decided to run to the shop where the other elephant was. I could not believe that the owner had kept the elephant in such conditions.

Elephant Number two

Seeing the elephant from the window almost made me cry cause I could not believe how badly the owner had treated the elephant. All I found was the website of the seller. www.givinglots.co.uk

I went to the website and found out that the elephants were being sold in an auction for as high as 100,000 pounds.Which i thought was too much for a plastic or what ever ‘material they were made from.

I was surfing the Internet and I came across this website (www.givinglots.co.uk) which was advertising that they where elephants for sale in the centre of London. I felt mercy for the elephants so I decided to go and buy them. Being empathetic made me think about how scared the elephants would be in a city as big as London. What were they eating and in what conditions where they living in. Also thinking if their master was giving them enough food and exercises? This is what I found.

Elephant number one

Poor elephant it was left on the corner all alone and with no water to drink. The only good thing was that it was put in the shade away from the summer sun.

In Dublin city centre there is the most frequented tourist place called temple bar.Which is full of pubs,clubs, restaurants and hotels.It is a great place to go out that is if you are a tourist and have your finances in order.On the other hand if you have a limited finance budget. It will be hard for you to enjoy a pint of Guinness.A pint of Guinness in temple bar costs 6 euro which if you check on the website (www.xe.com) by today’s rates is 5 pounds and a couple of pennies . Or if you use dollars it is 7.76 dollars by today rates on www.xe.com. So if you want to enjoy a pint of Guinness in Dublin stay away from Temple bar if you are on a budget. It is slightly cheaper outside temple bar.A pint of Guinness would cost you from 4.50 to 6 euro.

Park Deck chairs

When you are in London for what ever reason. If you live their or on a business trip,the best place to relax i believe is Hyde park.It is a romantic spot for lovers. A place where you can find people playing games like football.Sometimes you even get the chance of seeing the british military jogging and exercises in the park. Business people in suits with their shoes off in bare feet so that they can relax and feel the grass with their feet.

I was there a while back and I spotted the desk chairs so I decided to go and relax as I look at the swans in the water swimming.I had my packed lunch and was ready to start eating my lunch.When someone approached me with his meter asking me to pay for the deck chair.I thought that it was not worth paying 1.50 pounds for using the deck chair.So I told the man I was going to sit on the lovely grass. So I did and enjoyed my lunch which got me thinking about who came up with the business idea. All in all the experience that i encountered was worth a mention.

Kenya (Safaricom)

When i was in Kenya i was so excited to use M pesa (mobile money) as the english speakers call it. I was happy to buy a sim card from Safaricom . Only to find out that I had to learn new words like sambaza. Sambaza is basically sending mobile minutes to someone else’s phone.So if someone does not have credit on their phone you can send a text message to their phone.Which would give them credit that they can use to call or send text messages.

United Kingdom (Orange and O2)

I was on transit in the Uk and I needed to call so I bought a O2 sim card to catch up with friends who live in London. The beauty about O2 is that they give you 10 pounds free credit when you buy a O2 sim card.The down side is that you only get 10 free text messages if you send them online.

Orange is a mobile network company that I have used.Their is nothing special about using it cause it charges you to check how much credit you have on your phone.It also gives you thirty free texts a months online that is if you register online.

Ireland (O2 and Vodafone )

In the case of O2 in the Republic of Ireland you get 300 free text messages for free if you send the messages using the internet. Which is a very good bargain,compared to other networks in the Republic. The beauty about it is that you can send text anywhere in the world.Well of course if you have a O2 sim card and an internet connection.

Vodafone has been the longest network that I have used cause of its reliability in terms of network coverage across the country.Also the features that it provides like the roaming. When I was in germany and italy I was able to use the same phone and sim card and able to top up.The only thing is that you are only able to top up if you have a credit card, 3V voucher or laser card.So when I was in Italy I forgot my credit card in my hotel.So i decided to walk into a Vodafone shop and buy another sim card. Unfortunately in Italy you are not allowed to buy a sim card without your passport.

Google street

Anyone heard of google street? Well for those of you who haven’t. It is like google maps whereby you can view the world through your computer and zoom in on any location to see things in a much more detailed electronic map.As for google street as the name suggests you can view streets of particular towns and cities in the world.Not all streets can be viewed,it is predominantly in the US and parts of Europe.
It is quiet interesting that the swiss data protection watch dog is suing google for privacy

I thought that i was the only one who does not watch television.When ever i tell my friends that i do not have a television they look at me in a very strange way.They always ask me if i can not afford one.Then when they find out that it is out of choice they find me very strange.

Personally i think it is the best thing that ever happened to me. Ever since i stopped owning a television i started realizing what a beautiful world it is without a television.If i can look back to my childhood how much wasted time i spent flicking through channels. Watching things that i already watched over and over again.

Lesotho Independence day 4th October

Thousands of Basotho including adults and children from various parts of the country gathered in large numbers at the Setsoto Stadium to celebrate 40thindependence anniversary of Lesotho. Each district was represented and people from the districts were dressed up in their different colours and mostly in blankets, and songs and traditional dances were the mode of the day. Those interviewed said they are happy to have participated in the national celebration and recommended that the next Independence Day be celebrated in the districts like it is already happening with other national celebrations such as King’s birthday. They said it is from the national celebrations that the public can be informed about the government’s plans of developing the country as well as achievements. The Government Secretary Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane expressed his appreciation over a good turn up of Basotho and said that indicated a true happiness and love for their country and encouraged them to continue in the same manner even in other celebrations to come. The day was celebrated with traditional songs and dances. It was graced by the presence of their Majesties, the Prime Minister, Cabinet ministers, Heads of the Diplomatic Missions, Senior Government Officials, the publicand delegates from other countries within the Southern African Development Community region. Lesotho obtained its independence from the British protectorate on October 04 in 1966 and it marked its 40th anniversary by hoisting of the new national flag.
